Mental Toughness and You.

It is plain to see that some people are tougher/stronger than others. We can also say that that mentally tough people are better at dealing with high pressure environments whether it be in the boardroom, on the sporting field at home or school. 

 Question : What is  Mental Toughness? 

 Answer : Mental Toughness is the ability to perform at the highest level despite the circumstances.

 Solution : In order to achieve mental toughness we need to work backwards.

 

5 Techniques that Work    

1. See yourself succeeding. 

   See yourself getting that job, holding that trophy, or buying that house. 

   No matter what the goal, see your self accomplishing it.

 

2. What does it look like before 10minutes before success? 

    Anyone can imagine what we want to achieve that is easy part. 

    Imagine that place before success the pressure, the interferences, and you in your environment.  

    Put your mindset in a position to succeed not in a mindset focusing on outcome.

 

3. The only thing you have control over is your thoughts.

     Focus your attention on what can be changed and disregard what can not.

 

4 . Attitude is a choice. 

    Volition is the willingness to choose. 

    Choose your thoughts carefully. I won’t, I can’t, I’d like to, I’ll try, I can, I will. 

    The only choice that matters is “I WILL".

 

5. The greatest predictor of success:

    Maintenance of your Goal Orientation + Mental Toughness.

“ Is this possible ? Is this difficult?  Could someone do this? Or is it just impossible for me? “
